FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions:
What conditions do you treat?
I specialize in treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and anxiety-related disorders, including, but not limited to, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety, health anxiety, phobias, and related concerns.
How does the therapy you provide differ from talk therapy?
I specialize in using Exposure and Response Prevention and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which are the most effective treatments for OCD and anxiety-related disorders. This approach is skills-based and action-oriented rather than insight-only or supportive talk therapy.
Why should I work with a specialist?
OCD and anxiety related disorders are often misunderstood, even within mental health care. While many therapists treat anxiety in a general sense, evidence-based treatments like ERP and CBT require specialized training and experience to be used effectively. Working with a specialist means you are seeing someone who understands these conditions in depth and knows how to tailor treatment to your specific symptoms. This leads to more focused, efficient treatment and better long-term outcomes.
Are you the right therapist for me?
With 25 years of experience in the field, I am good fit for you if you are seeking evidence-based treatment for OCD or an anxiety-related disorder and are willing to take an active role in therapy. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and focused on skill-building, symptoms relief, and behavior change. You may benefit most from working with me if you are open to gradually facing fears, practicing strategies between sessions, and working toward long-term change rather than short-term relief.
How long does treatment usually take?
Length of treatment varies depending on symptom severity, consistency of practice, and individual goals. Many clients see meaningful improvement within a few months, especially when engaging regularly in ERP or CBT between sessions.
Do you accept insurance?
I am an out-of-network provider and do not accept insurance directly. Some clients choose to seek reimbursement through their insurance’s out-of-network benefits. I can provide a superbill upon request for you to submit to your insurer.
Do you offer telehealth services?
Yes, I offer secure telehealth sessions for clients. I am a PsyPact provider and able to see patients via telehealth who reside in a PsyPact state.
How do I get started?
You can begin by contacting me by phone or directly through the website to schedule a free 15 minute consultation. This allows us to determine if my services are a good fit for your needs.
